Now that we’re getting into the winter months, it’s a good idea to have a firm repertoire of warming drinks under your belt. Just to tide you over, y’know? Sure, there’s nothing wrong with classics like mulled wine or a Hot Toddy, but every now and then it’s fun to branch out and try something new.

When I first made the Olympic, I certainly didn’t expect it to be a potential winter warmer but to my great surprise, it is – in all honesty, I attribute it entirely to the brandy so if this recipe doesn’t tickle your fancy then I would suggest you check out the other Brandy recipes we have and see if there’s something that tempts you a bit more.

However, I absolutely would recommend giving this a go. The combination of brandy and lemon juice creates a sharp smokiness which plays awfully well with the orange juice. When you add some triple sec to that it packs an even bigger punch, but the mouthfeel stays smooth.

The Recipe

♦  1 ounce brandy

♦  1 ounce triple sec

♦  1 ounce orange juice

♦  ¼ ounce lemon juice

Shake all the ingredients together and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
